Last night was my first night in my new apartment. I moved almost all my stuff (everything except the 20" CRT TV, my glassware, and some clothes) over here, and it's finally livable. A sample, my bedroom (so far):
For now, only the upstairs has furniture yet. The game room has a couch, TV, stereo, and XBox 360 hooked up, and John's bedroom is all set up, but downstairs there's a whole bunch of nothing still. Just the upright piano in the corner, and John's and my kitchen stuff, which is half put away. Now begins the phase where I make it home. I've got to get some stuff on the walls, I need a rug for the floor of my room, gotta get a shade for the window... stuff like that. Oh, and I have to unpack all my crap, most of which is still lying around in milk crates and beer boxes. It's amazing how much stuff you accumulate over the course of even just a school year. You never really notice until it all has to fit in your car and get moved across town. Also on the to-do list is getting the house network up and running. The house is wired with CAT5E RJ45, RJ11, and coax cable going to all rooms, so this makes it easier. The plan is to install a gigabit ethernet switch in the back room where all the wires come together, then I'll run a router / file host which will be attached to the GigE, the cable modem, and the 802.11g wireless router. So far... we have exactly none of that, and are using one of our neighbors' unsecured wireless Internet connection. Oh well. So hopefully Pilsen will be a good home, and I'll have lots of good times here. Story developing... PS: changed the skin colors. (new skin | old skin) Now it matches the omghax.info colors, and the colors on my desktop, and the colors of my room too, haha. _WRF |
